Woman with Tiger
© Sarah Gee

Sarah is a fabric artist living in Victoria, British Columbia. She is represented by the Fran Willis Gallery.

Sarah says:

"This quilt is a bit old now. Currently I'm doing appliqued 'paintings' (I don't have a good word for it!), exploring the themes of dream, magic, and storytelling, with a critical edge."

Beyond the Sea
© Gale Mead

Gale is a member of the online ArtQuilt mailing list. Her quilt was displayed in the 1995 "Undercurrents" show at the Aullwood Audubon Center in Ohio.

Gale says:

"This quilt was inspired by a trip to the Oregon Coast in 1994. I wanted to evoke both the forest and the ocean, and to symbolize my concern for their diminishing health, as we pillage and pollute the natural world."

Mysteries of Our Universe
© Betty Goeres

Betty Goeres made this quilt of fabric she dyed by hand and gave the quilt to Crater High School for a fundraiser.

Betty says:

"It was magical to me to create fabric out of dyes--Whambo!--rainbow colors. I shall make a wall quilt using rainbows and stars representing our universe."

Paths
© Kathy DesRoches

Kathy made her first quilt in 1982 and has worked in series on color, improvisation, and landscape.

Kathy says:

"I believe quilters tend to be wonderful because of the hours they spend in solitude: working almost meditatively over a project they have already envisioned completed."
